Critical Illness Insurance
When a serious illness strikes, critical illness insurance can provide financial support to help you through a difficult time. It protects against the financial impact of certain illnesses, such as a heart attack or cancer. You receive a lump-sum benefit to cover out-of-pocket expenses for your treatment. You can also use the money to take care of your everyday living expenses like housekeeping services, special transportation services and day care.
- You can enroll during Open Enrollment without having to provide Evidence of Insurability (EOI).
- If you choose to cover your dependents, the covered spouse and covered children benefit amount is 50% of your benefit amount.
- Benefits are not paid for any critical illness diagnosed before your coverage effective date.
- You can take your coverage with you if you leave Kindred.
You’ll find complete details about coverage and cost on the Kindred Benefits Marketplace website.
